Truven Health Analytics Releases New Enhancements to Micromedex® CareNotes® Patient Education Solution

Patient Education Tools Improve Ambulatory Care Inside and Outside the Hospital

Ann Arbor, MI, Nov. 09, 2015 — Truven Health Analytics, ™ a leading provider of healthcare data and analytics solutions and services, today announced the release of new enhancements to its Micromedex® CareNotes® patient education solution. The solution, which is part of the Micromedex Patient Connect Suite, will now feature an expanded ambulatory care offering which allows clinicians to provide critical patient education resources for outpatient services.

New enhancements to Micromedex CareNotes include an expanded scope of educational resources for patients receiving ambulatory care, allowing providers to offer a tailored set of documents to patients being treated both inside and outside the hospital walls. All information included in Micromedex CareNotes is updated monthly to account for any changes in treatment or follow-up care, based on published medical literature. CareNotes is available online and may be integrated into all leading EHRs.

The Micromedex Patient Connect Suite is a powerful combination of patient education and consumer engagement resources that includes the following solutions: Micromedex Patient Education, featuring CareNotes; Micromedex Consumer Health Education, featuring SmartEngage™; Micromedex Pediatric Video Education, featuring Health Nuts Media. It also includes the new Medication Essential Fact Sheets, which are easy-to-read handouts designed to reduce readmissions and increase patient satisfaction, ultimately helping to boost medication-related Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores.
