Vice President of Life Sciences Strategic Consulting Named Mason Russell


Ann Arbor, MI, Sep. 27, 2013 — Mason Russell, an internationally known health economist and senior health services research leader, has joined Truven Health Analytics™ as vice president of strategic consulting. In his new role, Mr. Russell will oversee the firm’s strategic consulting practice area within the Life Sciences business. This practice area encompasses a wide range of services designed to assist Life Sciences customers in demonstrating and communicating the value of products to payers and other critical stakeholders, including market access and commercial strategy, economic modeling, patient-reported outcomes, literature-related services, and field-based observational research.

"With his proven track record of driving top-level scientific research initiatives, he will bring a critical eye to our product and business development initiatives, as well as a deep operational expertise to our broader organization.”

Russell comes to Truven Health from inVentiv Health, where he provided global scientific leadership and management in health economics and outcomes research for the Clinical division. Prior to joining inVentiv Health, he served as head of health economics at RTI Health Solutions and as a vice president of Abt Bio-Pharma Solutions. Aspects of his research have appeared in more than 125 manuscripts and abstracts published in scientific journals. Mr. Russell serves as a director or officer of several charitable and philanthropic organizations, including the Masonic Health System of Massachusetts and Overlook Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice.
