Truven Health Analytics to Present on ‘The Three C’s of Big Data Analytics’ at the Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum

Ann Arbor, MI, Nov. 05, 2015 — Truven Health Analytics™, a leading provider of healthcare data and analytics solutions and services, will present at the Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum in Boston, Massachusetts.

Healthcare is evolving in a direction that requires better connections and access to information – across departments, caregivers and providers, as well as payers and plan sponsors. Each of these stakeholders has different information needs, supported by data coming from a large array of sources. Truven Health, a long-time leader in managing large volumes of data for rapid access by various stakeholders, offers a transformational analytics platform designed for faster response to the emerging needs of payer and provider administrators, management and clinical staff.

Rich Holada, chief technology and data officer at Truven Health Analytics, will discuss the technology and business drivers behind the company’s expanding data and analytics capabilities in a presentation on “The Three C’s of Big Data Analytics: Convergence, Customization, and Celerity.” He will address the need for comprehensive, flexible data solutions that allow for expedient access to new information across the entire care continuum, and he will talk about drivers and enablers for faster development of predictive and proscriptive analytics.

As the evolution towards value-based care continues, all new payment and delivery models – from value-based purchasing to bundled payments to accountable care – are intensifying the imperative for improving quality, efficiency and outcomes. Stakeholders are demanding more from their data and systems: they must work efficiently to monitor and manage integrated performance across all aspects of health, care delivery, and payment. Holada will demonstrate the need to collect and organize data from all available sources such as electronic health records, lab systems, and billing and claims systems, and to apply new analytics that use this data to arrive at insights for each unique user. With the rapid evolution of healthcare, Holada believes it is important to quickly develop new analytics and to adapt and customize them quickly as new needs arise.

“The healthcare industry is constantly changing, and as a result, data and analytics solutions cannot take a one-size-fits-all approach, ” Holada explained. “In order to deliver the most effective results across the entire healthcare spectrum, the solutions we develop have to marry many sets of disparate data, while remaining flexible enough to be altered and improved in light of new developments.”

Holada’s presentation will begin at 9:50 AM on Friday, November 6, 2015.
