Truven Health Analytics Health Care Cost Transparency Tool Reaches 20 Million User Mark


Ann Arbor, MI, Jan. 17, 2013 — Truven Health Analytics™ president and CEO Mike Boswood was honored by the Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) at its 18th Annual Tribute to Leadership.

NEBGH is a network of employers, healthcare providers, insurers and other organizations working to improve the quality and reduce the cost of healthcare in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The organization’s annual event also honored Greg Behar, president and CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

During the December 10 reception, Boswood noted that Truven Health’s mission to improve the quality and reduce the cost of healthcare through the better use of data and analytics aligns perfectly with NEBGH’s goals. He highlighted that the trends driving healthcare today, including the Affordable Care Act and the shift away from volume to value in healthcare purchasing, are inexorable. They are changing the traditional landscape and boundaries of healthcare, and Boswood anticipates that data and analytics solutions like those offered by Truven Health will be fundamental to creating a value-based healthcare system.

Boswood has spent more than thirty years working in the global professional information industry, and for the past five years he has worked in healthcare as president and chief executive officer of the Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters. The Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters is now Truven Health Analytics.
