Truven Health Analytics Introduces User-driven Enhancements to Micromedex® Solutions

Upgrades to the Micromedex® Clinical Knowledge Suite Provide Clinicians with Improved Intuitiveness, Streamlined Searching, and Quicker Access to the Critical Evidence-based Information they Need and Use the Most

Ann Arbor, MI, Dec. 09, 2014 — Truven Health Analytics™ today announced enhancements to its Clinical Knowledge Suite of products, which includes evidence-based drug, disease, toxicology, neonatal, and pediatric resources. The redefined Micromedex user experience includes more intuitive design, enhanced, intelligent search functionality, fewer clicks to high-use features, and direct access to disease, medication and toxicology content directly from the home page.

The milestone release was implemented on December 3 and has been well-received by end users, especially clinical pharmacists, who are frequent and in-depth users of Micromedex Solutions.

"The change is seamless, very user friendly, and a nice upgrade, " said Katy Marconi, Pharm.D., Director of Pharmacy and Clinical Quality, Doctors Hospital of Manteca, a Tenet Health System Facility. When asked to compare the new, enhanced interface with the previous version, Eric Bergstrom, Clinical Lead Pharmacist at Tucson Medical Center said, "I do like the new interface. I attended the readily available training webinars and ensured my staff knew about those and the other resources provided as well." So far…we like it better."

"We are really pleased with the new launch page, it's much clearer. A lovely, clean, modern look and it gets you straight to what you need. Now it's easy to find the ‘Citing Micromedex’ information, and the ‘do not confuse section’. Helpful improvements for a very useful resource!" comments Katie Smith, Director of the East Anglia Medicines Information Service in the UK. Customers in Australia are equally positive, as Chris Giles, Pharmacy Practice Adviser at Epic Pharmacy, Australia, said, "We like the new functions, the search engine is great, and the navigation is more dynamic. It's quicker to drill down, which allows us to search very quickly."

"This release features upgrades that empower clinicians to improve patient care by providing faster access to critical care management information, and are the direct result of customer feedback. This enhancement demonstrates an ongoing and focused commitment to set the standard of excellence in delivering evidence-based, clinical decision support content for use in care delivery, " said Tina Moen, Pharm.D, Chief Clinical Officer, Provider Solutions, Truven Health Analytics.

Micromedex Solutions will debut the new redefined experience release at the annual ASHP Midyear Meeting and Exhibition in Anaheim, December 7-11 and invite interested parties to stop by booth #517 to learn more about the new Micromedex enhancements. Those not attending the conference are encouraged to call 1.800.525.9083, option 4 in the U.S., Latin America or Canada, +1.303.486.6444 if calling from outside the Americas, or visit micromedex.com.
